Motorola.com

I started at Motorola Mobility as a promotional, marketing designer and quickly evolved into a visual experience design as I tackled the website brand guidelines, a new navigational structure/design, and modular product description pages.

Promotional Design

Motorola.com promotional images were needed for the content provided by the strategists. These promotions could be in any of the languages from the 27 different countries we catered towards. I was in charge of curating the imagery from photoshoots and altering them to fit the layout and palette.

Global Navigation

I proved my problem solving skills by puzzle-piecing together the business and user needs for the new navigation. I used card-sorting exercises, Axure protoypes and other research tasks to create a brand new user-flow that also included business upsells directly within the navigation. This navigation was also translated to a responsive mobile solution.

MotoMaker Landing Page

My largest solo project at Motorola Mobility was the MotoMaker Landing Page. At this point in Motorola’s history, they had a application called ‘Motomaker’ which was a place to customize your phone or wearble with the colors/materials of your choice. There were three devices available for this platform, so a landing page was needed to direct the user to the device they desired. This landing page also had to be completely responsive and localized. I told the story of ‘MotoMaker’ with illustrations I created under the Motorola.com Brand Standards Guide and enlisted the help of our content strategist for content.

  • Multi-screen optimization

Product Detail Page

The Motorola.com PDP was an incredible feat. This page needed to be modular enough to span our suite of devices and wearables across 27 different country websites. While I did not provide the art direction for the photography, I was in charge of optimizing the structure of the page, including the features section. The features section could house between 2 and 7 features depending on the product needs. These configurations were housed on the CMS to be easily switched out by our content creators.
